The Public Works Division is at the heart of most road, water and waste issues in Hampton. Public Works is separated into several major divisions, departments or services, including Engineering, Solid Waste, Streets and Roads and Environmental Services.

  2. Construction on Beach Road is continuing, but should be finished by mid-August

    July 13, 2017 - Public Works says Newport News Waterworks is in the final stages of replacing and upgrading the water line and services on Beach Road from Silver Isles Boulevard to the water tower at Dandy Point Road.
  3. Road work will close Cunningham Drive eastbound on July 13 from 10 p.m.-5 a.m.

    July 10, 2017 - Cunningham Drive eastbound will be closed to traffic at Todd's Lane from 10 p.m.-5 a.m. on July 13. Public Works will make repairs to the road as it approaches the bridge. Read on...
