Healthy Families uses a community approach to serving children, youth, and families supported through a variety of free programs to increase the health and welfare in the City of Hampton. All children, all families, one community!

A variety of free programs have been designed to help strengthen families and promote school readiness.
  • Pre-School:
    • Welcome Baby and Healthy Start – home visiting services to all new parents providing them with information about child growth and development.
    • Infant Toddler Connection - provides early intervention supports and services to infants and toddlers from birth through age two who are not developing as expected or who have a medical condition that can delay normal development. Early intervention supports and services focus on increasing the child's participation in family and community activities that are important to the family. In addition, supports and services focus on helping parents and other caregivers know how to find ways to help the child learn during everyday activities. These supports and services are available for all eligible children and their families regardless of the family's ability to pay.
    • Parent Education Classes - for parents and their children.
    • Healthy Stages - a child development newsletter.
    • The Mayor’s Book Club - an early literacy program for Pre-K children through first graders.
