July 28, 2017 - First, City Council moved its summer meetings to Jones Magnet Middle School while the council chambers at City Hall undergoes renovations, including new seats and screens for visitors. Now, a broken air conditioner at Jones will cause Council (and the School Board) to move to Kecoughtan High School's auditorium in August.
The full City Council meeting agenda for Aug. 9 is still being assembled, but it will include eight public hearings that already have been scheduled. Those wishing to speak at any of these public hearings should sign up in the lobby of the Kecoughtan auditorium; sign-in sheets will be available at 6 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. meeting. The full City Council agenda will be published Aug. 4 and include additional items. The Council's Aug. 9 work session, which will begin early at 10 a.m. instead of 1 p.m., will take place at City Hall in the Community Development Conference Room on the 5th floor. All meetings are open to the public.
