Hampton Public Libraries
 The City of Hampton's public library system began in 1926 as the first free county library in Virginia. Today the library system includes the Main Library, three Branch Libraries and the George Wythe Law Library.
Library services
- The Summer Reading Program runs from June 14 through July 26.

The libraries offer new books, paperbacks, Playaways (books on individual MP3 players), audiocassettes, music on CDs, DVDs, large-print books, research material and programs and activities.
- Can't wait for that best-seller? Try the rental collection, funded by the Friends of the Hampton Public Library ($1 rental fee for a week; no holds, no renewals).
- The libraries offer free access to public computers and our wireless Internet connection.

Programs for adults, teens and children include book clubs, reading lists and resources for research.
