Animal Control
Animal Control enforces city animal-related ordinances, as well as applicable state ordinances; educates citizens on responsible pet ownership; issues summonses for ordinance violations, secures warrants and can impound and seize animals.

Animal control officers investigate complaints of animal cruelty, neglect, inadequate care, animal exposures, vicious animals, sick or injured animals and strays. They also educate citizens about wildlife concerns and remove dead animals from city streets. What to do if you are bitten by an animal.

To report a problem, make a complaint or to speak to an animal control officer, call (757) 727-6111.
