The Community Appearance, Pride and Image /Grant Review Committee meets monthly to work on the following: Goal: Maintain and enhance neighborhood appearance, quality and pride. Strategies: • Neighborhood clean-ups & city-wide beautification efforts • Partnerships with local companies to be “community sponsors” • Distribution of the Neighborhood Development Funds • City policies that improve neighborhood appearance and quality of life • Other Roles - Safe & Clean Initiative, Neighborhood Improvement Fund Policies, Neighborhood planning support In addition, the CAPI / Grant Review Committee meets at least quarterly to review and approve grant applications submitted to the Neighborhood Commission.

The City of Hampton is accepting Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) Program proposals for fiscal year 2019 (July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019). There are limited funds available, so competition for funds will be keen, and demand will exceed the amount of funds available. A funding application with complete instructions may be obtained from the Community Development Department — Housing & Neighborhood Services Division (22 Lincoln St., 5th Floor) or online at http://hampton.gov/2055/HUD-Entitlement-Grant-Programs. Completed applications must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018.
