Hampton's Neighborhood Commission provides leadership, guidance, and support to the Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative thereby creating healthy neighborhoods where everyone can realize their full potential for a better quality of life. The Neighborhood Commission performs the following functions, such as brokers and secures resources for neighborhoods, establishes policies with respect to the Hampton Neighborhood Initiative, expands participation in the Hampton Neighborhood Initiative, expands the capacity of neighborhoods to help themselves and other, maintains a vital and dynamic relationship with neighborhoods, provides oversight and evaluation of the Hampton Neighborhood Initiative, and serves as a representative body to and for neighborhoods.

The Neighborhood-School Partnerships Committee meets monthly to bridge Neighborhoods and schools together to have a strong partnership. Some of their strategies are host district-wide Meet & Greet events, grants for neighborhood and school projects, redevelop the Preferred Realtors Program, promote the role of our good schools in making strong communities, and improve involvement of citizens that do not have children who attend Hampton City Schools (HCS)

The Community Appearance, Pride and Image /Grant Review Committee meets monthly to work on the following:
Goal: Maintain and enhance neighborhood appearance, quality and pride.
• Neighborhood clean-ups & city-wide beautification efforts
• Partnerships with local companies to be “community sponsors”
• Distribution of the Neighborhood Development Funds
• City policies that improve neighborhood appearance and quality of life
• Other Roles - Safe & Clean Initiative, Neighborhood Improvement Fund Policies, Neighborhood planning support
In addition, the CAPI / Grant Review Committee meets at least quarterly to review and approve grant applications submitted to the Neighborhood Commission.

The Citizens’ Unity Commission is launching a series of screenings that are designed to encourage conversations about conflicts that separate us, the values that unite us, and our triumphs over adversity, no matter our race or class.
“America Divided” consists of several episodes that premiered on Epix in September, 2016 and cut to the heart of the inequality crisis, exploring life-and-death struggles around the economic, social, and political divide. In a country that is often divided, the “America Divided” series will remind us that our stories unite us.
Screenings are Saturday, April 22; Saturday, May 6; Saturday, May 20; and Saturday, June 10. Register today and join the conversation!

(Community Helps All New Growth Emerge) initiative of the Hampton Clean City Commission would like to invite citizens and community leaders to become involved with our anti-litter initiative geared towards middle, high-school, and college aged students participation in anti-litter efforts in the city of Hampton.
