HAMPTON RANKS IN THE TOP 20 OF HOT SPOTS
FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONALS

The City of Hampton was recently named one of the top 20 hot spots for young professionals to live and work as ranked by Next Generation Consulting (NGC). The ranking was based on seven indexes: earning and future job growth, educational opportunities, vitality, ability to get around town, after hours activities, cost of lifestyle, and social capital. Hampton ranked number 20 on the list in the "Mighty Micro" population category of 100,000 to 200,000.

"We are extremely honored to receive this distinction," said Mayor Molly Joseph Ward. "Hampton prides itself on being an affordable community with numerous career opportunities and a vibrant social scene for young professionals."

NGC has studied workplace preferences of 20 to 40 year olds since 1998. This particular study used 45 measures of the seven indexes to determine the best cities for young professionals.
