Compensation study questionnaire back online

Posted on September 4, 2014 at 12:00 AM by Dacia Hollis

Sept. 12, 2014 - I’m pleased to announce that the JAQ website is back online!  The following links will:

  1. Give you access to the website:  http://www.maginc.org
  2. Allow you to view a taped employee information session from last month describing the process: http://youtu.be/r7v-aSqNXs8

In addition to the information above, please keep in mind the following:

  1. When logging into the system, select the JAQ, which is the last tab on the left of the home page.
  2. You will use your employee id for both your user name and password.  Employee id numbers range from 2-5 characters. Please make sure you enter your actual employee id, including any leading zeroes if applicable.
  3. If your job title is incorrect when you access your employee information, please enter your correct title in the “Working Title” field. You should complete the survey based on the job you are in now.
  4. To select your immediate supervisor, enter the first letter of the last name of your supervisor and click the “Go” button located on the far right side of the screen. You will then have a drop-down box and can select your supervisor from the list of names provided.
  5. If you are a permanent full-time (PFT) employee who also works as a WAE employee, please complete the JAQ using your PFT employee id.
  6. If you would like to print a blank survey, click on the “Main Menu” button located at the top of the employee information screen.  Near the center of the main menu page, click on the button marked “Print All Pages”.  Next click on the button marked “Confirm”. You will then see the Introduction Letter for the JAQ.  You can now print the JAQ.
  7. You are strongly advised to complete Question 6: Essential Tasks offline.
  8. If you are a supervisor, you will still have access to your employees’ surveys after you've completed your survey and click the “Finish” button.

If you have any problems, please contact the Human Resources Department at 727-6407 or via email at hrfrontdesk@hampton.gov. Please describe your situation and include the user id and password that you are using to access the system.

Employees will have until September 23rd to complete the JAQ and supervisors will have until September 30th to review their employees’ information. Compensation and Classification information and updates can be found on the Employee Connection Page on Hampton.gov/employees.

Thank you for your patience as MAG worked to resolve their server issues.

It's Hunger Action Month at City Hall

Posted on September 16, 2014 at 12:00 AM by Fred Gaskins

Sept. 16 2014 Can you imagine not knowing where your next meal will come from? Or having to send your children to school hungry?

U
nfortunately, this is the scenario for some of our neighbors on a daily basis.

Our Virginia Peninsula Foodbank is dedicated to feeding local families, but even they are in need of canned goods.

Please join Hampton Mayor George Wallace in the fight against hunger by donating canned goods and loose change at City Hall Sept. 19-Sept. 30.

See the attached flyer for more information, and watch this video to learn more about the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank Food Drive.

Thank you for your support.

Compensation study questionnaire offline until at least Monday

Posted on September 4, 2014 at 9:33 AM by Fred Gaskins

Sept. 4, 2014 - Over the past few days, we have received numerous phone calls and emails from employees regarding delays or access issues when attempting to complete the Job Analysis Questionnaire (JAQ) for the Compensation and Classification Study. I’ve been in contact with Management Advisory Group (MAG) since Friday and they are working diligently to resolve the issues.

The JAQ website will be offline until at least Monday to allow MAG to address these issues and perform server upgrades that will allow you to complete the JAQ without unusual delays. Any information that you have entered and saved will be available to you when the website comes back online next week.

Employees will now have until September 19th to finish the JAQ and supervisors will have until September 26th to review their employees’ information.

I will send an email once the JAQ website is back online. Please make sure this information is shared with employees who don’t have access to email.

Thank you for your patience with this process and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
