Roscoe G. Hager, Sr.

Roscoe is a nationally recognized, award-winning management professional with a proven track record of exceptional leadership skills and abilities. He has served the nation’s fire and emergency services for more than 35 years. He started his Fire & Emergency Service Career in Prince Georges County, Maryland with the Chapel Oaks Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department. He continued his fire service tenure becoming the nation’s Youngest Career Fire Chief while managing the Central State – Wilberforce Fire & Rescue Department in Wilberforce, Ohio. He was recruited to serve in Fairfax County Virginia’s Personnel Division as the Affirmative Action Coordinator and later joined the Fire & Rescue Department. Roscoe served in multiple disciplines during his career with Fairfax County however he is most recognized as the nation’s first full time Equal Employment Opportunity Officer in the Fire & Rescue Department. Roscoe has developed local, state, regional, national and international policies for Fire & Rescue Departments. His early outreach to National and International Fire & Emergency Service Organizations lead to the development of best practices in the fields of Equal Employment Opportunity, Human Relations and Cultural Diversity.

Mr. Hager has lectured at national and international fire & emergency service conferences. He is known for consistent outstanding performance in mediation and resolution of complex personnel issues. He has achieved an impressive number of core competencies and recognition awards during his tenure.
