History

Intern (and former Youth Commissioner) Ryan Cerone
produced a 3-D model of the Teen Center, showing both
floors inside. This and other materials are available for exhibits.
(Call the Hampton Coalition For Youth at 728-3280 to book a speaker or display.)

Numerous city agencies and community organizations have documented and supported the need for a facility that addresses the unique needs of the teenage population during out-of-school hours. Hampton’s creation of a teen center is a dream for more than a decade. Focus groups, surveys and public meetings have all generated ideas for such a teen-friendly space. The Hampton Youth Commission has held the vision all the while and now supports it through marketing and, when there’s a fit, HYC grants.
