Teletech's donation will help us Wi-Fi the Teen Center
Kiwanis By The Bay donated $40,000 to fund the Cyber Café. Kiwanis is made up of ordinary people performing extraordinary work. The organization through guidance and example, works to develop future generations of leaders. Every day, Kiwanians are revitalizing neighborhoods, organizing youth sports programs, tutoring, building playgrounds and performing countless other projects to help children and communities. The Teen Center is a perfect fit for their generous gift.
Wal-Mart Distribution Center donated $1,000 in September 2008.
Jacob Berg (left) and John Terrell (right), both from Hampton and studying at the Conservatory of Music of Shenandoah University, are donating their time to design and research equipment needs for the teen center’s recording studio. They’re bringing their passion for music to the process of creating not only a studio but vibrant connections for teens on the local music scene.
Artist and Hampton High art teacher, Steve Prince, is working with teens to capture teen’s faces in plaster for a giant mural to be used in the multipurpose lounge. He and his team have 100 faces so far. This group is from Northampton Community Center, the team awarded a Hampton Youth Commission grant to help paint two teen center shuttle buses and act as a street marketing team.
