Purpose:

• Develops programs to address solid waste management and emphasizes beautification and sound environmental practices by business and governmental agencies.
• Communicates with and solicits support for Commision programs from business and governmental agencies.

Typical Projects:

• Surverys business and governmental agencies to identify problems that arise from their solid waste management activities.
• Makes business, industry, and governmental agencies aware of sound waste management practices.
• Helps forumlate programs to deal with litter problems in business and governmental agencies.
• Recognizes positive contributions of business and governmental agencies.
• Sponsors, with counterparts from Newport News, York County and James City County, a quarterly Peninsula Clean Business Forum to bring environmentally concerned businesses and government leaders together.
• Recognizes commercial contributions to the beautification of Hampton.
