Division of Fire & Rescue
Hampton Fire & Rescue is a combination department with more than fire patch 
270 full-time personnel supplemented by a contingent of volunteers under the direction of Fire Chief David E. Layman. The division, whose volunteer service dates back to 1884, provides fire protection, emergency medical services and environmental protection for the city's 136,000 residents. Hampton has 11 fire stations strategically located throughout its 53-square mile border. 

Services and Programs
The Division of Fire & Rescue prides itself on taking a proactive approach to community service, including: fire suppression, fire investigations, water rescues, fire prevention, code enforcement, and hazardous materials mitigation.
