A Great Neighborhood Begins with A Great Education

The Neighborhood Office offers two different areas of training to residents and neighborhood leaders: The Hampton Civic Community College and the Neighborhood Leadership Institute. The Hampton Civic Community College offers Hampton citizens a unique opportunity to learn how to partner with key city departments in improving and sustaining their neighborhoods. The Neighborhood Leadership Institute offers leadership and capacity building training to neighborhood organizations.

Hampton Civic Community College

Have you ever wondered what you could do to make your neighborhood great? If so, you may want to consider attending the Hampton Civic Community College, an educational series helping citizens to learn about available resources to make that happen. Neighborhood Leadership Institute

The Neighborhood Leadership Institute offers leadership and capacity building training to neighborhood organizations. The curriculum provides a continuum of training that is designed to increase the knowledge, skills and abilities of residents, thus the effectiveness of their neighborhood organizations. Neighborhood Organizations are encouraged to enroll 2 or 3 members in order to maximize the impact of their training.

Note: For 2007-2008, an alternate opportunity will be available as Hampton host the national Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA) conference in May of 2008. This will be an excelent opportunity to develop your leadership skills and network with community leaders from around the nation. Click here for more information on the NUSA 2008 Conference!
