The Hampton Sheriff's Office is currently recruiting for the positions listed below. Successful candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED; must have a valid VA driver's license with no more that -2 points; must successfully complete a physical examination to include drug screening, polygraph exam, and undergo a background investigation.
- DEPUTY SHERIFF (Full-time with Benefits and paid training)
In addition to qualifications listed above, successful candidates must be at least 18 years of age, successfully complete a written exam and physical agility test. Salary: $31,434/yr with a 9% increase after 1 year. - COURT SERVICES SECURITY OFFICER (Part-time)
In addition to qualifications listed above, successful candidates must be a retired Virginia Law Enforcement Officer, have a current Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Law Enforcement Certification (or be able to become recertified). Must successfully complete the Civil Process and Court Service Certification Course as well as maintain proficiency in firearms (initial and annual firearms qualification). Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule at a minimum of four hours daily. Salary: $18.00/hr.
