Director of Social Services

Walt Credle has headed the Hampton Department of Social Services since 1990. Before coming to Hampton he served in three other local social service agencies as a Director, Assistant Director, Planning Specialist, Social Worker and Eligibility Worker. He is an active member of the Hampton Community Policy and Management Team, the Board of Transitions Family Violence Services, the Hampton Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, the Hampton Family Violence Prevention Council and the management team for the Hampton Healthy Families Partnership. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Public Human Services Association and the Virginia League of Social Services Executives where he has served on the Boards of Directors and on numerous committees.
