Yellow Dot ProgramHistory | Hampton TRIAD | Officers | Activities | Project Lifesaver | Yellow Dot Program In its continued effort to match seniors with resources, Hampton TRIAD has utilized grant funds to implement the "Yellow Dot" program. The program was created to assist senior citizens during automobile accidents when they might not be able to communicate for themselves. Simply put, participants of the "Yellow Dot" program complete a form which contains participant's contact information (name, address, and phone number), the name, address, and phone number of a person to contact in case of an emergency, medical history, allergies, medications and dosage taken, and the names of any doctors caring for participant. The completed form is then placed in the glove compartment of the participant's vehicle and a yellow dot sticker is affixed to the left lower corner of the rear window of the participant's vehicle. During a vehicle medical emergency when the participant is incapacitated, the yellow dot alerts first responders (Fire/EMS/Police) that vital medical information can be found in the glove compartment. As a TRIAD participant, Hampton Fire & Rescue encourages you to take advantage of this FREE program. Though Hampton TRIAD and the "Yellow Dot" program are geared primarily to senior citizens, anyone may participate. Contact the Hampton Sheriff's Office 926-2540 for more information or to obtain the yellow dot for your vehicle.
