Unity Award Program
This award was established in the year 2000 to recognize the contributions of individuals, organizations and initiatives who have made a positive impact on supporting the importance of diversity in the city of Hampton. The award will be presented at the Unity Award 2008 program on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the Hampton History Museum.

Individuals, organizations, initiatives (educational, business, faith, non-profit, civic), whose efforts have had a positive impact diversity in Hampton. |
| Criteria: |
|
Nominees must have a positive impact on diversity in the Hampton community in one or more of the following ways:
- Modeled behavior or demonstrated the commitment to foster healthy racial and cultural relations
- Advanced awareness of diversity issues and concerns
- Participated in fostering dialogue among diverse cultural groups or ongoing diversity efforts
- Worked to dispel myths and misperceptions about diversity issues
- Demonstrated a commitment to cultural diversity through community involvement

Complete and send the Award Nomination Form to the Citizens' Unity Commission, 22 Lincoln Street, Hampton, VA 23669 by April 15, 2008. |
| Review Process: |
|
Applications will be reviewed by the Citizens' Unity Commission Award Committee. Selected nominees will be notified by Monday, April 21, 2008. |
