Youth Commission

Youth Commission imageAbout us

With roots starting in 1990, The Hampton Youth Commission (HYC) is a group of young leaders dedicated to amplifying youth voices in local government. Composed of students grade 9-12, from across Hampton, the commission advises city officials on youth-related policies, organizes community initiatives, and works to bridge the gap between young people and decision-makers. Through advocacy, leadership development, and civic engagement, HYC ensures that the perspectives and needs of Hampton’s youth are heard and valued.
