Hurricanes, storms, flooding, and Know Your Zone

Hurricane season starts June 1 and ends Nov. 30, but major storms can hit at any time. Hampton residents are encouraged to "Know Your Zone" so you can track storm updates and understand whether you should evacuate or shelter at home during a storm. Here's a map showing all the zones in Hampton.

Flooding, floodplains and evacuation zones

Most of Hampton is in zones affected when a hurricane, tropical storm or nor'easter causes persistent high winds and pushes water toward the shore:
