The Public Works Division is at the heart of most road, water and waste issues in Hampton. Public Works is separated into several major divisions, departments or services, including Engineering, Solid Waste, Streets and Roads and Environmental Services.

  1. City plans to put evacuation zone stickers on residential trash containers

    March 19, 2018 – Starting on April 2, Hampton’s Public Works Department and Office of Emergency Management will begin a two-week campaign to put special “Know Your Zone” stickers on more than 45,000 residential trash containers throughout the city.

  3. Public meeting planned to discuss Chesapeake Bay, Back River "action" plans

    Feb. 15, 2018 - The City of Hampton will have a public meeting on Friday, March 2, to discuss a draft of the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load action plan and a draft of the Back River Bacteria Total Maximum Daily Load action plan.
