Volunteer/Intern Information

Victim Witness Services provides a small number of unpaid internships to students studying Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, and/or Sociology to assists with the requirements of their educational goals on an as needed basis.

Through observation and hands-on experience, interns assist Victim Advocates by attending court hearings, completing paperwork, data entry, and interacting with the public.

If you are interested in interning with our office, please select the link and complete the Victim Services Volunteer/Intern Application. For further information, please contact our office at 757-726-6976.

Submitting an application does not guarantee you an internship. Internships are competitive since a limited amount of them are available at any given time. The earlier you submit your application, the better your chance is of securing an internship. If you secure an internship, you must undergo a background investigation.
