The Hampton Sheriff's Office proudly supports the senior citizen population of Hampton with several programs and community activities to address concerns and/or needs of the senior population. The Sheriff's Office in combination with seniors, Police Department, Fire Department and the criminal justice network sponsor a local TRIAD.
TRIAD: is a partnership agreement to work together to reduce crime and victimization, reduce the fear of crime, improve quality of life, focus on senior issues and improve delivery of law enforcement services. This program was the catalyst for the Sheriff's Office beginning an Adopt-A-Senior and Senior Shopping Trip programs.
Adopt-A- Senior: deputies in the Sheriff's Office Civil Process Unit visit seniors who may not regularly have someone to check on them. In addition, Hampton Sheriff's Office volunteers regularly place calls to the entire list of participants in the program to ensure their well-being.
Senior Shopping Trip: deputies annually escort seniors on a shopping trip to area shopping outlets. Including a lunch buffet, compliments of the Hampton Sheriff's Office.
Senior Informational Day: local officials address the services and programs available and their own message of concern for the issues facing the senior citizen community.
