Every year, Hampton's Street Division develops a schedule for resurfacing/repaving city streets based on several factors, including:
Cracking and other problems related to traffic loads on the street
Cracking and other problems related to the effects of the environment on the street
The roughness or smoothness of the street
Not All Streets Are the Same
Some streets get more traffic and need to be repaved more often. Other streets are less traveled and may not need to be repaved as often. By looking at their condition over a period of time using sophisticated measuring equipment and in-person visits, city engineers determine which streets need to be repaved first.
Here is the list of streets that are scheduled to be repaved in fiscal year 2020:
