Communications Center

About Us

The Hampton Public Safety Communications Center is located in Hampton City Hall at 22 Lincoln Street. This facility provides communications support for the Police and Fire Divisions and other users of the communications systems.

Staff Duties

The center is staffed by three shifts for continuous operations 365 days per year. The Public Safety Communications Center is a unit in the Support Services Branch, and is manned by civilian employees of the Hampton Police Division. The Center handles all phone, radio and referral calls for service, and dispatches all calls for service for the police, fire and emergency medical services. In addition the Center provides EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) to 911 callers that may have a medical emergency.
