[ARCHIVED] Top three money-saving ideas in budget survey get cash bonuses

Dec. 16, 2014 - Dec. 31 is the deadline to take the budget survey and give City Manager Mary Bunting - who has made staff raises a priority - your ideas on how to save money in the FY 2016 spending plan.

The top three ideas that produce operating budget savings or efficiencies will receive cash bonuses of $500, $300 and $200.

In a recent manager's message to employees, Bunting said "the management team and I are in 100% agreement that employee salary increases are our highest priority for the FY 2016 budget."

To help facilitate employee ideas, the city manager has asked employees for their ideas on ways to save. In addition to cash awards for the top suggestions, other suggestions used in the budget process will be recognized with achievement awards.

The deadline for survey submissions is Dec. 31. Winners will be announced in the spring after submissions have been evaluated for actual savings.
