[ARCHIVED] Commission endorses live entertainment, 5-year spending plan

April 2, 2015 - Hampton’s Planning Commission Thursday endorsed indoor live entertainment at St. George Brewing Co. and a pianist, jazz/blues bands and vocalists at Avenue Blue Piano Bar at Peninsula Town Center. The commission also endorsed a $213 million, five-year capital improvement plan for the city.

All of the endorsements must be approved by Hampton City Council.

The request from St. George followed a City Council zoning amendment last July allowing limited live entertainment with a use permit at microbreweries.

The five-year capital improvement plan includes spending $57 million on maintenance and upgrades to public properties; $17 million in support of the city’s master plans, and $13 million on public safety projects.
