We have officially kicked off the 2015 United Way Campaign with the theme “You can change a life.”  

The campaign runs from October 15th to November 12th . By now all department sub-coordinators should have received their “Campaign Bags” which contain pledge forms, posters and a pink report envelope. Last year we had 12% participation and raised a total contribution of $64,572.00.  This year we are aiming for 21% participation and $78,000.00.  There are thermometers in the lobby of City Hall and in the Ruppert Sargent building that will be updated weekly as we get our pledge forms in.

Pledge Forms Directions:

Employees who are donating are asked to complete and sign the forms. Employees should keep the “pink copy” for their records. Coordinators need to submit the “white copies” to 311 in the pink envelope provided by noon on Friday (10/23, 10/30, and 11/6); the “yellow copies” should be submitted to Finance for those employees who opt for payroll deduction. Coordinators, please drop off your pink envelopes to 311 at 136 Kings Way, in the Carmel Building,  or call 311 to make other arrangements at 757-727-8311.

Please ensure that in addition to providing the sealed envelopes containing donations, that you read the instructions on the form, fill it out completely, and also fill it out completely, and also please provide 311 with a list of those who donated so they can be entered into the PRIZE DRAWING at the close of the campaign.

ALL FORMS are due by November 10th so we can process them at the end of the campaign by November 12th!

Smart Card – With $150 Donation
Download flyer detailing 2015 SmartCard Deals. These will be provided at the end of the campaign period for all those who contribute a minimum $150 total which is $5.77/pay period for bi-weekly employees. Please remember to annotate the number of smart cards on your pink envelope as part of the weekly turn in process.

Raffle Prizes (Donations still being accepted)
Prizes and drawing date will be announced in the coming week. We will hold a drawing for all who participate at the end of the campaign.  We have some great prizes in store for those who participate.  Remember, no donation is too small.  The ultimate goal is 100% participation.
