[ARCHIVED] Mayor, vice mayor outline city's strategic vision, priorities

Nov 16, 2015 - Mayor George Wallace and Vice Mayor Linda Curtis (photos, right) outlined the city's strategic vision in an op-ed that was in the Daily Press Sunday.

"Our City Council has a continuous culture of strategic planning to ensure our community continues to have its share of major advancements and firsts," they wrote. Citing major initiatives and projects such as the National Institute of Aerospace, Hampton Roads Convention Center and Peninsula Town Center, the mayor and vice mayor emphasized the city's need to grow its economic base, learn how to live with the water that surrounds us, showcase Hampton's unique personality, ensure an educated workforce, and keep the community clean and safe.
