[ARCHIVED] Winter weather advisory issued for Friday

Feb. 11, 2016 - The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 a.m. Friday to 12 a.m Saturday. Hampton is expected to receive 1-2 inches of snow from a storm headed this way.

The advisory means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Motorists are urged to use caution during this time. The forecast high temperature Friday is 32 degrees with lows in the mid 20's.

The Public Works Department will pretreat roads before snowfall starts, and city staff, including Public Works and Police, are prepared to adjust operations as needed. The city's Emergency Management Office will continue to monitor weather conditions.
