[ARCHIVED] Public Works is always on pothole patrol

March 3, 2016 - You may not notice them until it's too late, but city crews are busy fixing potholes as soon as they show up.

Tyler Richardson, superintendent of bridge and street operations, said someone goes out every morning to check the roads and schedule repairs. Work crews are out daily, and a city contractor comes back to work March 15 - after a winter shutdown - to focus on pothole repair.

If you want to report a pothole call the 311 Citizen Contact Center (311 from a land line or 727-8311 from a cell phone or from outside the city) between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m seven days a week. Priority is given to potholes bigger than 12x12x2.

Give the person who answers your 311 call the location (include nearest intersection) and size of pothole. You should also tell them whether the road is concrete or asphalt.
