April 28, 2017 - City leaders - and happy shoppers - gathered to celebrate the official opening of the first At Home store on the Peninsula and the sixth in Virginia.

At Home says it stocks more than 50,000 home decor items ranging from furniture, rugs, art and housewares to tabletop, patio and seasonal items.

The warehouse-sized home-goods retailer is the first new store to open as part of a $60 million redevelopment of Riverdale Shopping Center. The shopping center is being redeveloped by Southeastern Development Associates and being renamed Riverpointe.

At 91,000 square feet, At Home will not be the largest store in the shopping center. Construction is slated to begin on a 123,000-square-foot Kroger Marketplace, which will anchor the center.
