Crawlin' Crab: Road closures this weekend due to race


Sept. 27, 2017 - Several streets around the Hampton Coliseum and Hampton Roads Convention Center will be closed Saturday and Sunday morning when the Crawlin' Crab races return to the city. The weekend includes five different road races, a sports and fitness expo at the Convention Center, a brew fest and more. Races start at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and should be finished by noon. Streets that will be closed:

Saturday: Coliseum Drive, Pine Chapel Road, N. Armistead, Convention Center Drive and Freeman Drive (westbound lanes; residents can leave H20 and travel east to N. Armistead).

Sunday: Coliseum Drive, Pine Chapel Road (northbound lanes), Power Plant Parkway, West Queen St., Settlers Landing, Franklin Street, Kings Way, Lincoln Street, Eaton Street, East Queen/E. Queen's Way, S. King Street, S. Armistead, Victoria Blvd., Powhatan Parkway.
