Feb. 9, 2018 - The Vanguard Brewpub & Distillery is set to open its doors to the public Saturday, Feb. 10, a year after development and construction kicked off.
Located on North King Street, the 18,500-square-foot former armory was built in 1936 and stood vacant for more than 20 years. The location has received quite an upgrade and has transformed into a craft brewery, microdistillery, and live entertainment venue. Brewing and distilling will be under the brand Caiseal Beer & Spirits Co. and customers will be able to select from various craft brews, including stouts, IPAs, ales, whiskey, vodka, gin, and rum.

The distillery is still under construction but there are plenty of their own beers and food available, The Vanguard president Randy Thomas said.

Patrons will be able to see the brewing and distilling process happening in a separate area of the building, they will also be able to enjoy live music from two separate stages, an indoor and outdoor stage. The vibe of the venue will be a little "more elevated" Thomas said and people will also be able to enjoy upscale pub-style menu options.

Regular operating hours begin Saturday, Feb. 10, ours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday. For more information visit The Vanguard's website
