March 20, 2018 - The National Weather Service at Wakefield  says rain will continue today and into Wednesday as another storm system moves into the area. The forecast calls for snow mixing with rain Wednesday, and temperatures starting to drop about 11 a.m.  Snow is expected to continue into the the early hours Thursday. Less than an inch of accumulation is possible, with wind gusts of 40-45 mph  along the Chesapeake Bay and on the Eastern Shore.

A coastal flood advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 8 a.m. Thursday. That means onshore winds and wave action could create flooding of low-lying areas and residents should be prepared for road closures and minor property flooding. Hampton's Emergency Management Office, Public Works and other departments are closely monitoring weather and road conditions.
