[ARCHIVED] Hampton champions now qualify to play for youth football national championship

Jan. 4, 2019 – Hampton’s youth football league is now associated with the United Youth Football League, and Hampton champions in each age division will now qualify to go to Tampa, Fla. to play for a United Youth Football League National Championship.

The United Youth Football League’s mission is “to provide a safe and structured environment which enables all young people to benefit from participation in team sports and youth activities.”

The Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services youth tackle football league is for Hampton residents only. Players must be 6 by Aug. 15. Games are typically held at Gosnold’s Hope Park on Saturdays during the fall. Hampton’s age groups include 6-8 unlimited; 9-10 unlimited, 11-12 unlimited, 13 unlimited and 14 with a 185 lb. maximum.
