Jan. 14, 2018 - Registration is now open for Camp Fury, the weeklong summer camp for girls that gives them an up-close look at the life of a firefighter. From July 21-26, girls in grades 6-12 can train alongside a team of firefighters and law enforcement personnel, gear up and experience hands-on fire, emergency services, and law enforcement activities.

Hosted by Hampton’s Division of Fire & Rescue and the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast, Camp Fury lets girls meet women who are breaking down barriers and stereotypes in non-traditional public service careers.

Enrollment is limited and registration is on a first-come, first served basis. The cost for participants who register before Feb. 1 is $345. After Feb. 1, the cost is $360.

Campers will commute to Camp Fury in Hampton from Camp Skimino in Williamsburg, and the week will end with a special graduation ceremony.

For more information contact Medic Firefighter Jami Salvio at jssalvio@hampton.gov, or visit the Camp Fury web page.
