[ARCHIVED] Camp Prospect participants will spend a week learning Fire skills and much more

Camp Prospect

April 8, 2019 - At-risk young men ages 14-19 will have a weeklong opportunity this summer to explore the world of firefighting by applying to be part of Camp Prospect. Co-sponsored by Hampton's Division of Fire & Rescue and the Office of Youth and Young Adult Opportunities, campers will learn different tactical skills, share team-building, and take part in individual achievement exercises.

Camp Prospect is designed for young men who are less likely to transition successfully into adulthood and achieve economic self-sufficiency, or those who require temporary intervention in order to succeed. The goal is to make young men aware of local opportunities and to show how positive choices can bring desired outcomes and a brighter future. Daily activities for everyone will run from 6 a.m.- 6 p.m.
Camp Prospect is only open for young men who live in Hampton. Campers are expected to participate for the full week. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis, and submitting an application does not guarantee selection.

For additional information on the camp please go to www.hampton.gov/fire or call 757-727-2730.
