[ARCHIVED] Hampton's One City One Book program discusses 'Simon Versus Homo Sapiens Agenda" in June

May 7, 2019 - Hampton’s One City One Book program will begin discussing the book “Simon Versus the Homo Sapiens Agenda” starting Monday, June 10. The book is about the life of a young high school student named Simon who likes a young man named Blue. Simon is not openly gay, and when his email exchange falls into the wrong hands he has to try to preserve his secret. The discussion will start at the Main Library on Monday, June 10 at 6 p.m. It moves to the Phoebus Branch Library on Wednesday, June 12 at 1:30 p.m.; the Willow Oaks Branch Library on Monday, June 17 at 7 p.m.; and the Northampton Branch Library on Saturday, June 22, at 7 p.m. The movie “Love, Simon” is based on “Simon Versus the Homo Sapiens Agenda,” and on Wednesday, June 19, at 4 p.m. there will be a movie talks session about the movie. One City One Book is sponsored by the Citizens Unity Commission and the Hampton Library. The goal is to get people to travel to all of the city’s libraries and to “increase the opportunity for citizens to learn and grow together.”
