[ARCHIVED] City Hall lobby furniture moved temporarily for Santa's Attic, gift wrapping

Santas Attic 2

Dec. 9, 2019 — The new furniture placed around the City Hall lobby will be temporarily removed to make space for the Santa's Attic Arts and Crafts Show and the free gift-wrapping by the City Manager's Office on Friday, Dec. 13.

Hampton Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services presents Santa’s Attic every December. From 10 a.m.-5 p.m., you can shop one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted items made by local artisans. Grab-and-go lunch and holiday treats will also be available to buy. Admission is free.

While you're at City Hall for Santa's Attic on Friday, why not let the City Manager’s Office and department directors take a little holiday stress off your shoulders by wrapping as many as five your holiday gifts for you!

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can bring your boxed presents in a shopping bag or garbage bag — along with your wrapping paper — to the lobby at City Hall. We’ll do the rest. Go online now to pick a time to bring your presents to City Hall. The last appointment time is 2:30 p.m. This year, please stay in the lobby for the short wait while your presents are being wrapped. For the record, we can wrap unboxed items, but we make no promises as to how presentable they will be.

The brighter, more comfortable furniture being moved was added to the lobby recently as part of a City Council initiative to keep city buildings inviting for both citizens and employees. The new seats and tables will return to the lobby Tuesday, Dec. 17.
