April 1, 2020 - Hampton City Council’s public meetings scheduled for next week at City Hall have been canceled due to coronavirus concerns. Instead, City Council will hold a meeting electronically - in accordance with the Virginia Code - at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Council chambers. According to a notice from the Council clerk, the new virtual meeting has been called "by agreement of all members of the City Council for the specific purpose of legislative actions which, if not taken, would cause irreparable harm to the City of Hampton and its citizens, and is necessitated due to the continuing public health threat."  Some members of Council are expected to attend electronically. The meeting will be broadcast on the city TV channel, Cox 47/Fios22, and streamed at http://hampton.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?camera_id=2. An agenda for the meeting will be published Friday.  More information is available from the city manager’s office and the Clerk of Council, at 757-727-6315.
