April 10, 2020 -  Beginning Monday, a city contractor will begin milling and paving Ivy Home Road from Kecoughtan Road east to the end of the city right-of-way, near the Hampton River. Public Works said the project will incorporate several adjoining streets, including Pratt Street, Somerset Lane, Trail Street, Newcomb Avenue, Fleetwood Avenue and Marine Road.

The project is expected to be finished the week of April 27. Most work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Area residents are asked to avoid parking in the roadway during work hours, reduce vehicle speeds, and follow traffic control measures and posted signs. During construction there may be some disruption of traffic flow, temporary access to property, on-street parking, trash pick-up and street sweeping.
