June 25, 2020 - Hampton Healthy Families, Hampton Public Library, and the Mayor’s Book Club invite you and the children in your life to join “CommUNITY Reads: Affirming Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.” That’s our name for an online reading program where volunteers share children’s books featuring stories that spark conversation about ethnic and racial diversity, equity and inclusion. All the books read will be available at local libraries. Look for postings and more information every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer. Learn more on the Healthy Families Facebook page.

On the fourth Thursday in June, July and August, Healthy Families, Hampton Public Library and the Mayor’s Book Club will host “Let’s Talk About It,” a Facebook Live discussion that takes themes from the summer’s “CommUNITY Reads” program and talks about practical ways to help children broaden their understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion. Expert panelists will answer your questions and provide valuable resources to keep your conversation and exploration going.  Join “Let’s Talk About It” on Thursdays, June 25, July 22 and Aug. 27, from 7-8 p.m. on the Healthy Families Facebook page.
