[ARCHIVED] Tour de Trash Express to the Compost Facility! July 23, 9am - 11:30am

Tour de Trash Express to the Compost Facility 7-23-20

The Tour de Trash Express to the Compost Facility departs the Hampton Clean City Commission on July 23 at 9am for a 2.5 hour tour to the Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority Compost Facility, located off Goodwin Neck Road in Yorktown. Transportation is provided by Hampton Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services. Seating is limited due to social distancing requirements.

The Compost Facility serves Hampton, York County, and Poquoson and processes 30,000 tons of yard trimmings (leaves, grass, branches, weeds, Christmas trees, and twigs) annually.

The Compost Facility is a Tour de Trash favorite, because it is an aromatic stop on the Tour de Trash and harnesses the power of air, water, and yard trimmings to make compost and mulch. Join the tour to learn how that happens.

To sign up, email hccc@hampton.gov or visit the sign-up link at https://hampton.gov/FormCenter/Hampton-Boards-Commissions-Committees-5/Tour-de-Trash-Registration-Form-52.
