July 17, 2020 -  Despite Covid-19, home sales in Hampton continued their positive trend. The number of homes sold in Hampton kept climbing in fiscal year 2020, which ended in June, and the median sales price also showed increases. Meanwhile, properties listed for sale continue to decline.

According to the Real Estate Information Network, a private multiple listing service for Hampton Roads, June’s home sales were down slightly (2.6 percent) from the previous year, but pending sales increased 15 percent.

Median sales prices for homes in June increased from $186,000 a year ago to $195,075 this June. Median sales prices have been in the $190,000s for three consecutive months.

Even as prices inch up, Hampton was named one of the top 10 cities in the country for home affordability, according to Realtor.com’s analysis earlier this year.
