red cross blood drive

Aug. 25, 2020 - The City of Hampton and the American Red Cross are sponsoring a blood drive in the lobby of City Hall Thursday from  8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, according to the Red Cross. Donating one pint of blood can help as many as three people. Schedule a donation appointment online at RedCrossBlood.org. At the website, enter the sponsor code HamptonCity in the box next to “Find a Drive." If you have never signed in as a donor before, you can create an account by clicking on "Sign In" at the top of the page. Walk-ins are welcome, too.

This year, all blood donations are tested for COVID-19 antibodies. The results will be available 7 to 10 days after successful donations.
