April 13, 2021 - All Hampton Public Library locations will reopen to the public on Monday, April 19. Hours and patrons will be limited to enforce social distancing and allow time for cleaning the facilities and materials. Curbside service will remain available.

• All branches will be open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 1-5 p.m.
• Face masks will be required for all patrons 5 years old or older.
• Patrons will be allowed to visit the library one hour per day.
• Patrons will be required to have their temperature checked upon entering the building.
• Social distancing protocols will be observed.
• Computer stations will be available by appointment or self-access. Each patron will be limited to 60 minutes per day, per session.
• Computer printing and copying services will be available at all locations.  In addition, fax service will be available at the main library.
• The Local History Room/ Special Collections will be available by appointment only for genealogy and local history research. One reservation will be allowed in the room at a time with a 90-minute time limit per day.  Please call (757) 727-1314 to schedule an appointment.
•  Curbside service will continue, Monday-Friday, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  

Because most of the community center staff is still working at the vaccine clinics at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, it will take those facilities longer to open. City Manager Mary Bunting noted that the clinics have vaccinated more than 30,000 people, and that would not have happened without the Parks & Rec staff's help. Community centers and the Senior Center will reopen on May 3. Outdoor volleyball and basketball also will return for play (at your own risk) on May 3 as well. 

Hours and activity will be modified to ensure Covid-19 practices can be followed. Full details will be released closer to that date.
