[ARCHIVED] Road closures, traffic restrictions for Crawlin' Crab 5K, half-marathon


The Crawlin’ Crab Weekend is Oct. 7-8, with a 5K run and a kids’ kilometer on Saturday, and a half-marathon on Sunday in the Coliseum Central district and other neighborhoods. Here is a look at how the races will affect traffic and parking on those dates.

Road closures on Saturday, Oct. 7

Coliseum Drive, from the Convention Center entrance to the back lot of the Coliseum, from 5-10 a.m.

Pine Chapel Road, from 7-9:309 a.m.

North Armistead Avenue will remain open, but there will be no entrance to Convention Center Boulevard from 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Convention Center Drive will be closed from 7:30-9 a.m., but northbound lanes will be open for residents exiting Pinnacle and H2O.

Freeman Drive will be closed to eastbound traffic from 7:45-8:30 a.m., but residents of Pinnacle and H2O can travel west to Convention Center Boulevard and North Armistead Avenue.

 Road closures on Sunday, Oct. 8

Coliseum Drive from the Convention Center entrance to the back lot of the Coliseum, from 4 a.m.-2 p.m.

Coliseum Drive from Pine Chapel Road to Convention Center Boulevard, from 5 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Pine Chapel Road northbound from Power Plant Parkway to Coliseum Drive, from 5 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Power Plant Parkway northbound from Pine Chapel Road to Queen Street, from 7 a.m.-noon.

West Queen Street eastbound from Power Plant Parkway to West Pembroke Avenue, from 7-9 a.m.

Settlers Landing Road eastbound from West Pembroke Avenue to Bridge Street, and westbound from Wine Street to South Armistead Avenue, from 7-9:30 a.m.

Franklin Street from Settlers Landing Road to West Queens Way, from 7:15-9 a.m.

Kings Way from West Queens Way to Lincoln Street, from 7:15-9:15 a.m.

Lincoln Street eastbound from Kings Way to Eaton Street, from 7:15-9:15 a.m.

Eaton Street southbound from Lincoln Street to East Queen Street, from 7:15-9:20 a.m.

East Queen Street and East Queens Way from Eaton Street to Wine Street, from 7:15-9:20 a.m.

Wine Street from East Queens Way to Settlers Landing Road, from 7:15-9:20 a.m.

South Armistead Avenue from Settlers Landing Road to Victoria Boulevard, from 7:15-9:20 a.m.

Victoria Boulevard westbound from South Armistead Avenue to LaSalle Avenue, from 7:15-9:40 a.m.

LaSalle Avenue southbound from Victoria Boulevard to Chesapeake Avenue, from 7:15-10 a.m.

Chesapeake Avenue from LaSalle Avenue to Pear Street, from 7:15-10:40 a.m.

Pear Avenue northbound from Chesapeake Avenue to Victoria Boulevard, from 7:15-10:45 a.m.

Victoria Boulevard (one eastbound lane, plus bike and parking lane) from Pear Avenue to Pembroke Avenue, from 7:15-11:15 a.m.

Powhatan Parkway (southbound lanes, switching to northbound after I-664 north on-ramp) from Victoria Boulevard to Pembroke Avenue, from 7:15-11:20 a.m.

Powhatan Parkway northbound from Pembroke Avenue to West Queen Street, from 7:15-11:40 a.m.

Power Plant Parkway northbound from West Queen Street to Pine Chapel Road, from 7:30 a.m.-noon.

Parking restrictions

On-street parking will not be allowed on the following streets from 12 a.m. Saturday morning until noon Sunday. Residents must move vehicles before 12 a.m. Saturday morning to avoid being towed.

Settlers Landing Road between South King Street and South Armistead Avenue

Franklin Street between Settlers Landing Road and West Queen Street

East and West Queen Street between Franklin and Eaton streets

King Street between Settlers Landing Road and Lincoln Street

Wine Street between East Queen Street and Settlers Landing Road

South Armistead Avenue between Settlers Landing Road and Victoria Boulevard

LaSalle Avenue (west side) between Victoria Boulevard and Chesapeake Avenue

Chesapeake Avenue between LaSalle Avenue and Pear Street

Pear Street (east side) between Chesapeake Avenue and Victoria Boulevard

Victoria Boulevard (south side) between Pear Street and Powhatan Parkway

Powhatan Parkway and Power Plant Parkway between Victoria Boulevard and Pine Chapel Road
