Oct. 3, 2023 — The Hampton Police Division is seeking a federal FY23 Byrne Memorial Grant for needed equipment.
In accordance with U.S. Department of Justice grant requirements, the Hampton Police Division would like to inform the public of the items sought as part of the grant. The Police Division is requesting the following:
- 2 Aqualung Rapid Diver Systems
- 3 WRAP Restraint Systems
- 5 Computer Printers
- 1 Vehicle Wrap for Police Recruiting SUV
- 36 SWAT Communication Headsets/Links for new police radios
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program is administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Department of Justice. It is "the leading source of federal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions" according to the bureau's website.
